SV Central Library and Research Centre

Incorporated in 1993, SVCLRC houses a rare collection of over a lakh of published works with enormous, unique archival material, manuscripts, palm leaves, iconography focused on Hindu philosophy and religion.

The UGC through SV University has recognized this library as Research Centre for research scholars.

This library is open to general public from 8am to 8pm on all working days and 9am to 5pm on all Sundays and general holidays throughout the year except on the Three National Holidays, when it remains closed. Several digitization works are also taken up in this library.

 >   Acquisition of materials and documents

 >   Processing of materials

 >   Micro-filming of manuscripts

 >   Automation of the system

 >   Communication and acquisition of information


 > To enable pilgrims to enjoy a memorable and soul-satisfying pilgrimage and provide them with the facility of reference to such appropriate documents and publications which will make the pilgrimage rewarding and purposeful


 >   To spread the philosophy of Hinduism, Hindu culture, Epics, Puranas, History, Sciences, Mythology, etc., alongwith the tenets of comparative Religion.

 >   To promote art and culture and collect at one centre out-standing works, treatises, publications relating to the various forms, styles and modes of presentation of art including fine arts, dance, drama, music, folk arts, folk music, marshal arts,paintings and the like.


 >   To establish a well equipped library of Indology and a Reading Room.

 >   To establish a museum of manuscripts, historical records, coins, paintings and other antiquities.

 >   To provide pilgrims with the facility of referring to documents and publications during their stay in Tirumala and Tirupati.

 >   To conduct lectures, seminars, study groups, workshops, etc., on problems related to Sanathana Dharma.

 >   To publish research papers, treaties, books and periodicals and other literature relating to Sanathana Dharma.

 >   To receive grants from the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, Central and State Governments and gifts, donations, benefactions, bequeaths and transfers of properties, both moveable and immovable from donors, benefactors, testators or transferers, as the case may be.


 >   To propagate the ideals of TTD in furtherance of well-being to humanity.

 >   To ideal with any property belonging or vested in the Institute (Library) in any manner which is considered necessary for promoting the said objects.

 >   To demand and receive such fees, deposits and other charges as may be prescribed by regulations.

 >  To do all other such deeds either singly or in conjunction with others are as incidental or conductive to the attainment of objects stated herein or any of them.

 >  To enter into any agreement or arrangement with any other society, foundation or any other party having any legal entity or any individual for the purposes of the society.
