YOGA and its Practice

It is known to all that health is the basis of both temporal and spiritual wealth. For keeping good health we must take balanced diet and practice yoga by which we can acquire self confidence and keep our body and mind strong and vigorous. By doing some yoga practices we may get rid of certain chronic diseases like diabetes, blood pressure, nervous weakness and Asthma.

The word yoga has been derived from the Sanskrit word "yok" which means to reach the aim of our inner soul to achieve God.

By adopting yoga practice an individual can get connection from the body to mind, mind to inner spirit, and inner spirit to reach the Almighty.

There are so many ways to reach God. We may adopt any of the following which lead to God.

a) The science of mind.

b) The science of duty.

c) The science of devotion.

d) The science of knowledge.

Thousands of years ago Patanjali Maharishi, the father of the Yoga has written about "Jnana Yoga" through his writings "Patanjali Yoga". Today the ancient education is being learnt by lakhs people in foreign countries and getting the benefits of it.

In daily life we are facing many problems due to which mental peace is lost. This can be controlled by Yoga Asanas. It also develops self-confidence. This can be understood to the people who regularly practice them and who did Yoga Asanas.

PRANAYAMA :

By doing Pranayama the blood circulation in the body develops. By stopping breathing for a while one can reduce mental tensions and develop self-confidence.

PADMASANA :

It develops concentration and provides mental and physical health.

PAVANAMUKTHASANAM :

This asana controls gas produced in the stomach, removes constipation, indigestion and other ailments of the stomach and also cures the increasing of fat and extra fats in the body and eliminates the diseases of the heart and acidity Respiratory problems are curable by this asana. This asana should not be practiced by pregnent women.

SARVANGASANAM :

By this asana total cure of diabetes is possible. This asana improves good eye sight and prevents T.B., paralysis and fits.

MATSYASANAMU :

It removes muscular tightness around the neck, shoulder; improves blood circulation in the head and also improves facial beauty.

PACHIMOTHASANAM :

And for all good functining of muscles and glands, prevents the diseases of kindney, liver and spinal marrow. Activates the spiritual forces in spinal marrow.

CHAKRASANAM :

This is an excellent asana for legs, buttocks, shoulders, hand muscles and for spinal chord.

BHUJANGASANAM :

This asana helps to reduce the menstrual problems and prevents the abdominal disorders. Activates the digsestion. Prevents pain in the chest, neck and the waist.

DHANURASANAM :

Prevents stomach ache and diabetes. The main features of the asana facilitate the body to bend like a bow.

TRIKONASANAM :

Relieves the pains of the joints. This asana helps to increase digestion.

ARTHAMACHENDHRASANAM :

It gives relief from all the pains relating to back bone.

SALABHASANAM :

Best remidy for the diseases of stomach.
